Employment

Full-time employment is critical to a successful sobriety on a number of levels.  The rigors of a structured environment along with personal responsibility associated with a job fit into the CSL recovery profile.  The income from employment eases the stressors of financial obligations and allows for an improved living.

Goodwill Career Center

Whether you’re looking to improve your skills to land a job at Goodwill or anywhere else for that matter, look no further. Blue-collar jobs. White-collar jobs. And any other color of a collar jobs. We give you the training and other resources you need to secure gainful employment in many different industries. Locations have a full-time staff to provide assistance with any type of job search. Career Centers are equipped with computers, printers, Internet access, telephones, and fax machines to provide services at no cost to the community. (602) 535-4444.

Maricopa Workforce Connection

Workforce development specialists work collaboratively with their on-site community partners to provide no-charge comprehensive career search assistance including: Resume development and review, career counseling, job readiness workshops and skill and aptitude assessment.

St. Joseph the Worker

St. Joseph the Worker is committed to expanding our impact by forming collaborations with parishes, supportive housing providers and social services to help more homeless individuals than ever before find quality employment and achieve self-sufficiency. 

City of Phoenix One Stop Career Centers

Each One-Stop Career Center offers a resource center, workshops, counseling, referrals, and assistance. To learn more about the hiring, training, and job search services specific to your needs.  Resource centers at each Career Center provide job postings, word processing, resume software, Internet access, and office equipment (fax, copier). There are people to assist you with information and referrals. Workshop topics include resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search skills, salary information, and industry trends.When layoffs are necessary, our Rapid Response program provides customized services to the business and dislocated workers to assist with unemployment and the job search process.

Arizona Department of Economic Security

The Employment Services focuses on providing a variety of employment-related labor exchange services including, but not limited to, job search assistance, job referral and placement assistance for job seekers, re-employment services to Unemployment Insurance claimants, and recruitment services for employers with job openings.

Education and Training

Clean and Sober Living requires every resident to make a full-time effort while in the program.  Education and training is one way to meet this requirement.  The Phoenix area has a wide variety of educational andtraining opportunities.  Help with GED preparation and testing, community college courses and institutions of higher learning are located near all Clean and Sober Homes.

The Maricopa Community College System

The ten Maricopa Community Colleges support the economic needs of Arizona and the Greater Phoenix area by providing degree and workforce training programs in response to the needs of the community.

Maricopa Skill Center’s cutting edge vocational training programs are developed by input from Valley employers and their outstanding employees, ensuring that the skills students obtain at MSC translate directly into the workplace.

New Vocational Location Near Northern and Augusta

MSC is scheduled to open its new Northwest campus by April 2013 at 2931 W. Bell Rd. to serve the needs of the Northwest Valley. The satellite campus will offer certificate programs in the career fields of cosmetology, business and technology, health care, and trades.

Gatway Community College

GateWay Community College offers more than 125 accredited academic, workforce training and career preparation degree and certificate programs in Apprenticeship, Automotive, Business, Healthcare, HVAC, Industrial Technology, Information Technology, Liberal Arts, Math & Science and Nursing.

GED Class Provides in Person Preparation

Rio Salado College’s Adult Basic Education department offers in-person classes to prepare students for the GED (high school equivalency) test. Classes are taught in English, and prepare students for the five subject areas of the GED test.

Adults Achieving a College Education (ACE)

Rio Salado offers students who are enrolled in the Adult Basic Education Program the opportunity to complete their GED and make a smooth transition to higher education through the Adult ACE (Achieving a College Education) program. This scholarship-based college and career preparation program is for adults, 16-years-of-age or older who are ready to commit to completing a degree, certificate, or workforce training program.

Type of Classes

  • The Adult ACE Program is an accelerated developmental track for students who need to bring their academic skills in Math and English up to college level. The program of study includes a class in college success strategies and an introduction to online learning.
